Welcome to Failsworth Walking Group! We are a community of individuals who share a love for walking and also exploring the great outdoors. Our group is open to anyone and anyone who wants to join us for a fun, healthy, and social way to stay active and enjoy nature.
Our walking group offers a variety of walks that cater to different fitness levels and interests. We have short, easy walks for beginners or those who just want a leisurely stroll, as well as longer, more challenging walks for experienced hikers who are up for a challenge. We also have themed walks such as history walks, wildlife walks, and coastal walks that offer a unique experience to explore the local area.
We meet regularly for walks, usually on weekends and also during the week sometimes, depending on the season and the availability of our members. Our walks are led by experienced leaders who are passionate about walking and the outdoors. They will guide you through the route, ensuring everyone stays together and that the pace suits everyone in the group.
Walking is one of the simplest yet most effective forms of exercise. It is easy to do, requires no special equipment, and can be done almost anywhere, it will not only burn calories but will strengthen your heart and help lower your blood pressure.
Hiking is a popular outdoor activity that involves walking on trails and paths in natural environments such as moorland, forests and mountains. Hiking takes up a good portion of the day and may require a good level of fitness.
We regularly plan trips away to various places in the UK and abroad, and have been as far as away as Spain walking the Camino De Santiago, We also often enjoy camping and different adrenalin events, as well as social weekends away.
